The fee for the personal psychotherapy program is approximately $3300 CDN (also dependent upon individual needs).
Application Interview:
Applicants will be contacted for an in-person or phone interview. Applicant names and personal contact information are kept strictly
confidential.
Preparation:
Participants in ibogaine therapy should be prepared for a change in their lives, have options
or plans for their future and, perhaps most importantly, have a social support
network that is healthy, caring and supportive.
We will request a brief statement stating what the applicant plans to do
for aftercare as this is a most important aspect of the recovery process. Setting goals
and making plans for recovery can be very helpful and may be further explored
with the aid of one of our counselors on staff. We will
assist in offering referrals and helping participants enter into available programs after
ibogaine therapy. Information regarding previous
detoxifications and participation in various programs or therapies with some information on the outcomes of these other options (ie: why they did or didn't work) may assist in regards to aftercare referrals.
Ibogaine therapy should be considered as a 'catalyst' or 'tool' that may be highly effective in the detoxification and recovery process
and not necessarily as a "quick fix" or "cure" in and of itself. Candidates should be prepared to have an experience that may affect
them deeply on psychological, emotional and spiritual levels. Support from the
facilitators and staff will be offered throughout the entirety of the therapy.
The role of our facilitators is to provide a safe atmosphere of receptivity,
caring and trust.
Please see the Ibogaine
Patient's Bill of Rights for an understanding of patient/subject
rights and responsibilities.

Anyone who is taking antipsychotic medication or anyone on long-term medication
that may cause possible negative interactions with ibogaine will be required to taper down from the medication with the assistance of their doctor before taking ibogaine (only in cases where it is deemed by the doctor to be safe to do so) or will not be accepted for ibogaine therapy. We urge strong caution in this regard and proper consultation with the prescribing doctor.
Possible Side Effects:
Potential side effects typically associated with drug interruption doses
of Ibogaine include: ataxia (temporary loss of muscle coordination), tremors,
photosensitivity (sensitivity to light), nausea and slight changes in blood
pressure. Any side effects experienced subside 24-48 hours after the onset of
therapy and are not considered withdrawal symptoms (which should be significantly removed through the action of the ibogaine). Some individuals may experience short-term back pain which can be resolved through stretching, baths, exercise and massage.
Pain Management:
For those with pain management issues, we will determine readiness for the
program only if the applicant can demonstrate that options for dealing with
pain have been examined in full detail and that steps have been taken to seek out
professional help in this regard. It is strongly suggested that the
applicant demonstrate that options for effectively dealing with pain have been seriously considered.
Consent:
We require that all applicants recommended for therapy first read, sign and date
a consent form. This form serves to inform the applicant of possible effects, risks
and procedures for the therapy as well as releasing the providers from liability.
Therapeutic Procedures:
Our therapy protocol is modeled on the
Manual for Ibogaine Therapy: Screening, Safety, Monitoring & Aftercare,Second
Revision by Howard S. Lotsof & Boaz Wachtel.
